Restaurant Style Salsa
By Rebecca Spoolstra, our Recipe Contributor
This simple 5 ingredient salsa is full of flavor and is easy to whip up. Use it as a topping for taco night or bring it as an appetizer to a party. I argue that it can also serve as a quick meal - no judgement here!
Ingredients
▪ 4 fresh jalapeños
▪ 2 cloves of garlic
▪ 2 cans of whole/diced/crushed tomatoes (28 oz cans)
▪ 1 bunch of cilantro
▪ 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
1. Remove stems and seeds from the peppers and dice. Mince the garlic cloves. Wash the cilantro and cut off the stems.
2. Add all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend together on low speed or chop cycle until you get the texture you prefer. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
Notes:
This recipe makes about 6-7 cups of salsa.
If you like spicier salsa, feel free to use the jalapeño seeds. Also, if you like a chunkier salsa, use the whole tomatoes and go easy on the blender. Or if you like a super smooth salsa, blend away!
