The root of the word Renaissance comes from a French word meaning “To be born again” because the Renaissance was characterized by a revival of interest in the wisdom and learning of ancient cultures that preceded it. These paintings are part of an on-going project to listen intently to the great masters so that, bit by bit, they may be “born-again” today.
