Not Forsaken: A Prayer for the Single Woman
By Maria
Jesus, I will wait on You for Your glory to unfold.
I will trust that You are guiding my life towards Your perfect plan and therefore I have nothing to fear. I do not have to fear my weakness or the possibility of making the wrong decisions. As long as I hold fast to You, my God, I can trust that You are always working out all things for my good.
I will trust my life and the events of my life. I will not try to forcefully redirect my course with a tight, fearful grip. I will not grasp what is beyond me and out of my reach. I believe that You are constantly doing new things for me and you will not let me grow stagnant. I trust that in your Divine Providence, You will bring the people into my life who are part of your plan in Your perfect timing.
I accept that when people walk out of my life or a relationship ends, I can let go in peace with the confidence that although it may be a painful loss, I will not be forsaken by You. Your faithfulness consoles the brokenhearted. As I surrender my heart and any sadness to you, I gradually release the attachment of past relationships to You. You are the great healer and you will help me make space for new life to dawn, for new beginnings, and new love to enter.
I believe in Your love; I believe that You pursue me and have laid down Your life for me. You are a wreckless Lover who longs for me and never stops coming after me. I am chosen by You, loved by You, cherished by You. I am Your beloved. I am always cared for, protected, and provided for by You. Every detail in my life has been accounted for, therefore, I have nothing to fear.
You will take care of everything. I am my Beloved’s and he is mine. (Song of Solomon 6:3)
